Rebar materials are primarily categorized into carbon steel and alloy steel. Carbon steel includes plain round bars (HPB) and ribbed bars (HRB), while alloy steel primarily consists of threaded bars.
Carbon Steel Materials
Plain Round Bar (HPB)
Material: Low carbon steel (e.g., Q235), carbon content ≤ 0.25%
Applications: Non-load-bearing areas such as stirrups, distributor bars, and small components
Ribbed Bar (HRB)
Material: Medium carbon steel or low alloy steel (carbon content 0.25%-0.45%)
Applications: Main reinforcement in load-bearing structures, bridges, high-rise buildings, and other load-bearing areas
Alloy Steel Materials
Mainly threaded bars, with a higher carbon content (0.3%-0.8%) and added elements such as manganese and silicon for increased strength, are suitable for long-span bridges and core load-bearing structures in high-rise buildings.
